A measured response to Gwathmey’s architectural language in Amagansett, balancing preservation with contemporary detailing.
A thoughtful continuation of a legacy.
Set in Amagansett, this renovation engages directly with the architectural language of Charles Gwathmey, neighboring one of his most recognized works.
The approach was not to replicate, but to interpret—preserving the original dialogue between cedar, stone, glass, and steel, while introducing materials and detailing that reflect today’s possibilities.
Recognition includes AIA Long Island and AIA Peconic honors, as well as the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Kitchen Design distinction.
